BIOPIX-T is thrilled to announce the successful evaluation of the ResTick project, led by Kotsyfakis Michail and the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) where we proudly serve as a partner in this transformative research consortium!
ResTick focuses on addressing the urgent challenges posed by ticks as disease vectors, particularly in combating the Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). As climate change reshapes ecosystems and amplifies disease risks, the need for innovative and proactive solutions has never been greater.
🎯 Key Objectives of ResTick:
✅ Develop early warning and monitoring systems for ticks and tick-borne diseases.
✅ Create affordable, user-friendly diagnostic tools for point-of-care applications.
✅ Establish predictive models for tick abundance and disease prevalence.
✅ Build a dedicated network for studying tick species, pathogens, and interactions in SSA.
By leveraging advanced molecular ecology, cutting-edge technologies, and interdisciplinary collaboration across molecular biology, veterinary science, epidemiology, and diagnostic assay development, ResTick is pioneering One Health approaches to safeguard public health and enhance resilience against tick-borne diseases.
